Impact

Local People. Local Impact.

Since 2008, your support has helped families in Ventura County facing cancer with urgent help, stability and hope. Below is how your generosity translates into real impact and how we continue to grow that support together.

By the Numbers

- Over $365 average grant size

- 66 families served across Ventura County

- 79% of grant recipients used their grant for a medical expense

- Serving the most vulnerable: senior citizens, children, unhoused individuals, underserved communities, agricultural workers

These figures are current as of year 2024.

Who We Serve

We prioritize families most at risk during cancer treatment. Those balancing medical care with everyday bills.

- Senior Citizens – Older adults, often on fixed incomes, struggling with treatment and housing expenses.

- Children & Teens – Young patients whose families face added burdens such as lost income or child care.

- Unhoused Individuals – People in cars, vans or transitional housing during cancer treatment our grants provide stability and dignity.

- Underserved Communities – Low-income neighborhoods and immigrant families with barriers to care.

- Agricultural Workers – The backbone of Ventura County’s economy, often facing seasonal income, insurance gaps and limited access.

Each story is unique and each one shows that our work is about more than numbers. It’s about helping someone breathe a little easier while facing the toughest fight of their lives.

What Your Donation Does

Your gift translates into:

- Rent or mortgage assistance so families stay in their homes during treatment

- Utility bill help to keep lights on and water flowing

- Transportation funds for treatment appointments or caregiver needs

- Supplemental costs not covered by insurance: wigs, child care, medication co-pays

- Emotional relief: one less worry means a patient can focus on healing

Together, we’re alleviating the day-to-day burden that often comes with cancer.

Looking Ahead

We’re committed to expanding our impact every year. Our goal for the coming year is to:

- Increase grant awards by 90%

- Serve 100 more families in underserved neighborhoods

- Develop new partnerships to provide wrap-around support (housing, trauma counselling, advocacy)

Your continued generosity helps us write the next chapter in Andrea’s legacy.
